In this Union Square bachelor pad the challenge was to create an industrial yet inviting look. Silver metals, contrasted stained woods and Chesterfield leather seating pieces coexist with the fiery energy of its owner, a real estate investor, through accents of red as well as vintage posters depicting racing cars.
Industrial style is often associated with raw, unfinished textures such as exposed brick, concrete and metal. To make the space feel welcoming, I softened these textures with the addition of plush textiles like cushions and throws. Here I mixed vintage and modern pieces to create a sense of history and character in the home. For example, an antique wooden media stand paired with a light-colored modern sofa. In this industrial-inspired place, the lighting plays a key role like the mixed-metal task lamps or the chrome geometric floor lamp.
