Reviving Miami Homes with Color
As a French designer living in the eclectic melting pot of New York, I find myself on an intriguing design journey leading me to the vibrant city of Miami. In my pursuit of creativity and a passion for interior design, I set out to make a significant change in the Miami design scene. My mission is simple yet transformative: to educate people in Miami about the power of color and texture in their homes, steering them away from the ubiquitous white leather sofas, shiny floors, and lifeless flat colors.
Having the privilege to go back and forth between New York and Miami, what strikes me is the different design cultures in these two cities. New York's design aesthetic leans towards European minimalism and functionality, while Miami's design scene, thanks to its lively culture, lush landscapes, and year-round sunshine, exudes a unique vibrancy that is deeply rooted in its Latin and Caribbean influences.
It’s time to break free from the monotony of white and the uneventful design of Miami homes. By combining my French design sensibilities with the rich tapestry of Miami's cultural influences, I set out to infuse life, character, and, above all, color into the homes of this ecclectic city. I introduce Miami homeowners to the idea that the warmth of wood, the roughness of natural stone, and the tactility of fabrics can coexist harmoniously to create a more inviting and comfortable living environment. My goal is to dispel the myth that color should be confined to accent pieces or wall art. Instead, I encourage my clients to embrace the power of color as a foundational aspect of their interior design. This means integrating lively hues into furniture, upholstery, and even walls. Miami's colorful essence should be reflected in every corner of one's home.
Over time, my mission is bearing fruit, whether in New York or Miami. The homes I design reflect these cities’ souls. No longer are they sterile and cold, but instead, they become havens of warmth, energy, and personality.
