Green Decor:
In this Parisian apartment overlooking a garden I wanted to reflect the outside nature with sage green tones and the hand-bent-wooden coffee table. This garden-like atmosphere compliments a refined set of antique furniture typically French, with a silk covered Louis XV daybed as well as a worldly and tasteful art collection with pieces of Chinese artist Zao Wou Ki and American painter Paul Kremer.
The homeowners, a couple of passionate art collectors, had recently moved into their new home, a spacious apartment with high ceilings and large windows. They had been dreaming of transforming their living space into a sophisticated and artistic environment that would showcase their collection of modern art pieces.
Beige Decor:
In this Brooklyn townhouse the challenge was to combine sophisticated, mature items with a touch of contemporary design through splashes of color and art. The classical: marble countertop, herringbone hardwood floor and chiseled crown moldings are a solid structure for the playful teardrop pendants, abstract painting and coral dining chairs.
The retired couple of this space wanted to create a mature, elegant yet modern home where they can enjoy their golden years. They always appreciated classic designs, but they also desired to incorporate modern elements that would make their home feel current and fresh. They envisioned a space that is sophisticated and elegant, but not stuffy or outdated. The open, airy floor plan allows for plenty of natural light and flow between areas. We picked high-quality materials and finishes, such as hardwood floors, marble countertops, and custom cabinetry.
In terms of color scheme, they wanted to keep things neutral with shades of gray, beige, and white, but they also want to add pops of color through accent pieces and artwork. The result is a home that reflects their refined tastes and provides a welcoming environment for their loved ones.
Tropical Decor:
This West Village townhouse had a great structure that was in need of color. For the two creative young women living in this apartment, the goal was to make it at their image: warm and energetic.
For these two young professionals living in a chic apartment in this trendy neighborhood of New York City, despite their busy schedules, the goal was to enjoy entertaining friends and family in their cozy living room. We transformed this space which featured neutral colors and minimalist decor into a fun and tropical vibe. The bold colors, lush plants and unique textures now transports them to a sunny beach resort every time they step into their home.
My specialty is to create vibrant and eclectic spaces, so I suggested adding deep shades of blue-green and swapping out their neutral sofa. To incorporate more natural elements, we added large indoor trees and tropical plants. Layering different textures was key, such as a woven rugs, velvet Chesterfield seating and sheer drapes, to add depth and warmth to the space.
Orange detail Decor:
In this Union Square bachelor pad the challenge was to create an industrial yet inviting look. Silver metals, contrasted stained woods and Chesterfield leather seating pieces coexist with the fiery energy of its owner, a real estate investor, through accents of red as well as vintage posters depicting racing cars.
Industrial style is often associated with raw, unfinished textures such as exposed brick, concrete and metal. To make the space feel welcoming, I softened these textures with the addition of plush textiles like cushions and throws. Here I mixed vintage and modern pieces to create a sense of history and character in the home. For example, an antique wooden media stand paired with a light-colored modern sofa. In this industrial-inspired place, the lighting plays a key role like the mixed-metal task lamps or the chrome geometric floor lamp.
